Privacy Please!!!

Just a warning I am moving my blog to private.....if you are interested in being invited to view my blog please send me an email with your email address. Thank you

Just for fun I typed in my name to see if anything came up. There is a search engine for blogs called Technorati that post your blog and information on their site. I thought this was strange because I have set my blog to not be listed on any search engine.
In order to remove your domain name you need to set your blog to private. However that doesn't just protect you.....it also documents every comment you make on your friends blog that are not set to private. So people can still read what you are writing. So my friends who aren't set to private will not be receiving comments from from here on out. Thank you and I hope you all take this advice and change your blog to private and please invite me.

"Blogs that are set to Public in some platforms such as WordPress, LiveJournal, Blogger, etc automatically ping when posts are publisheed. Thus, not only will Technorati recieve the ping to index your post, but all other blog search engines will as well. If you do not want your posts indexed, please set your blog to Private."

This is what is stated on their website to remove your blog.

Halloween!!!

This year was by far one of my most favorite Halloweens since I met Kurt! (We met at a Halloween Party at the institute.) Abbi was so grown up we were able to take her trick-or-treating for the first time. I don't have pictures because my camera has been missing for 3 weeks now.

The week before Halloween Kurt took the night off because it was our wards Halloween party and I told him I would rather him have that day off than Halloween because it was going to be a fun party. Kurt, Abbi and I dressed up as Royalty, Abbi being the Princess, Kurt being the Knight, and me being a Lady in Waiting. You know Abbi's assistant. It was a lot of fun. Kurt won the best all around. Because he had the most total votes out of everyone there but not the most votes in any one category. So they made up a prize for him. They said that some people voted him the scariest because he had a real sword and some voted him as the most creative because he made the entire costume all by himself including the chainmail. We have video of the costume, but I don't know how to download it on to the computer. It was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Halloween was fun. When I got back from my eye doctors appointment we got Abbi all dressed up, a bumblebee this time, and went trick-or-treating on main street. It is so great all the small buisnesses on main street dress up and invite everyone to trick-or-treat to the buisnesses. Some places even dress up also. It was so fun to see Abbi, Peter and Johnathan get so excited to get candy put into their buckets. They were so cute. It took us so long to get finished. 2 hours. By the time we were finished we all were tired. When we got home we put our little munchkins down and waited until they woke up so we could do more Trick-or-treating.

Kurt and Brad had left for work while we were on Main Street so Steph and I were planning on going to some friends homes and do a street up by the church. But before we left, Kurt and Brad pulled up!! I was so happy!! We had some dinner then off we went. Abbi loved getting candy and mommy and daddy didn't mind getting some either.

The street up by the church was amazing. The people in the homes are a bunch of older couples that loved to see the kids in their costumes. I felt bad that they had to get up to give us candy but I could tell they absolutley loved every minute of it. There was a house that was having a huge party. But we went there anyway, we were standing on the sidewalk and people just started talking to us. There were adults and kids there. We were a little nervous thinking this was a ward party so we didn't want to interfer. But they kept telling us to go get a hot dog and some chili and have a cup of hot chocolate. They also had apples. I was just thinking about how Abbi didn't eat much dinner and that this would be good for her to have something substancial so I went up and did as I was told. This lady come up to talk to me and I found out that it wasn't a ward party. "This is just what this family does for trick-or-treaters every year." The owner of the home is a dentist and he doesn't like to give out candy. What a great idea! I grabbed Abbi and Apple and she devoured it. Kurt got the oppuritunity to talk to the owner of the home and a couple more people. They told him that it is mostly the members in the ward that come. They also started inviting us to church with them. What a great missionary oppurtunity. I was very impressed. Abbi was sad to leave.

When we got back from trick-or-treating we went to a party over at our neighbors for a little while then it was bedtime, for Abbi, mommy and daddy. It was a busy day but we sure had a great time.

Formal Apology

Last Friday, Oct. 31, I had an eye Dr. appointment in the morning. He had me read the letters on the wall......then he asked, "Did you drive here today?" Thinking nothing of it I answered, "Yes" He then started laughing and said, "You shouldn't have and I don't think I am going to let you drive home." I said," I have been noticing my eyesight is getting worse, but I didn't think it was that bad." He then had me try to read the letters again. Then said that the line on the bottom of the page was the one I need to read in order to have a drivers license. I could not read the one above it. He was very kind and said that they could fit me with some contacts so I can drive safely until I get glasses. After wearing the contacts I couldn't believe that I was so naive about how bad my vision was. So I guess I need to write a Formal Apology.

Dear Readers and Friends and Loved ones,

As I ponder the events of last week I sit in sorrow for the DANGER I have caused you. I am sorry to all those who have ridden with me while I have been in the drivers seat. I knew I couldn't read the signs marking the streets and I knew that finding an address was very difficult.
I also apologize to those who have been on the streets, driving, walking, or even sitting on your front porches. Seeing how with recent discoveries I may have hit you or driven up on the curb and hit you while you sat on your porch. I have been a bad girl and should have gone to the eye doctor a lot sooner.
I pray you all will accept my apology.

Sincerely Yours,
Blind with out knowing it
Kati

So my eye sight isn't that bad, but why not play it up while I can. :)

Cast your Vote!!

I just got back from Voting and I wanted to say that it is so important to vote at every election. Even if we feel that our vote doesn't count. It does. So exercise your freedom and go vote. It is kind of fun to do and you feel so good after doing it.

Sicknesses

So Abbi decided it was time for her to get her first cold of the season this week. Complete with waking up in the middle of the night coughing and crying and not being able to breathe and a fever. She is all better now. Just a little stuffy with the constant nose wiping and the sneezing. I feel like I am carrying a biohazard bomb in my pocket with all the used and unused tissues I am carrying around.I am so grateful for Johnsons Soothing Vapor Bath. I love this stuff. It clears the sinuses so effectively. It makes it so Abbi can breathe and so she can fall asleep. Seriously all you mommies out there should try this. I have used it ever since she was a baby. Only then I didn't put it in her tubby. I just put it in the sink so that the Vapors would fill the air in the bathroom. Also I love the Vicks Waterless Vapor nightlight thingy. These are our "cures" for the common cold. What are your "cures"?

Faith of Our Fathers

Kurt's family was able to get a hold of the mission journals of the first member of the Hammond Family to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They transcribed the entries and posted them on a blog. I have been so up lifted by the faith of this man. Francis Asbury Hammond. served a mission on the Hawaiian Islands. I love reading his testimony. But one thing that touches me most is this entry titled Preserve this Book. He is praying for his descendants. He had an eternal perspective on the Gospel and he wanted his descendants to know him and know his testimony. May I learn from this faithful man and strive to become more like my Savior. Feel free to read and be uplifted.
The faith on this man has affected so many people that I know and love. Without his conviction to the truth I wouldn't have my wonderful hubby and my beautiful daughter. I am so grateful for the faith of our fathers. This man has become my Father in so many ways. Thank you to all those who worked so hard in preserving his legacy and his testimony. Thank you for transcribing his journal so Kurt and I can know this man.

Notes From Abbi: Halloween Party

Saturday was a fun day. Mommy and Daddy took me to Papa's house and we had a party with all of my cousins. When I got there tons of fabulously decorated cookies were all over the table. There were "Punkins", bats and ghosts. They all looked so tasty and were delicious.

Then we went to a "punkin" patch. Grandma and Papa wanted to buy all of us a "punkin". I picked out a perfect one with the help of my daddy. I even got to carry it all the way back to papa's house. The best part was that I got to get a little dirty. Daddy was trying to take all the dirt off the "punkin" but I thought that added to the look of it so while he was helping Lillie with hers I tried to put more dirt on it. Daddy laughed at me and cleaned it off again. Daddys are so funny that way.

When we got back to Papa's mommy let me go outside and play on the swing set. I got to swing for 45 minutes straight!! Then mommy said that was enough and that her arms were tired. So I got to climb on the swing set and slide down it. It was really hot outside so mommy kept interrupting my fun to make me drink some water. It had ice in it so I guess that was okay.

WE had a delicious dinner. Clam chowder......I know mommy loves that so much. We also had some chicken noodle soup, and french bread. We had so much soup grandma let us take some home. Yummy!!

Mommy and daddy after dinner dressed me up in my bumblebee costume. My cousins were all dressed in theirs too and we went Trick-or-Treating in grandmas house. We all got to knock on a door and someone (Uncle Lynn, Cory or Ben, Aunt Diana, Grandma, Papa, and Daddy) opened the door and gave us candy. The best part was Papa's door. He was sitting on the floor and the bowl of candy was on the floor too. So Lillie and I took advantage of our cuteness and the situation and kept grabbing more and more candy out of the bowl. We had to stop when our mommies said "that is enough you two". But they were laughing so we knew we weren't in trouble.

(Picture from last year)

We also had some tasty desserts.......Aunt Shari the master chef made a "punkin" roll and a fruit pizza. I devoured daddys and they both were so tasty.

By the time this was all finished we were all very tired so mommy said it was time for us to head home and get ready for church the next day. I had a great time!! Thank you grandma and Papa for the great time and the wonderful memories. Oh yeah, also Thank you for the "punkin" and the plastic "punkin" for Trick-or-Treating. I wanted to take them to church yesterday but mommy said I couldn't. Mommies are funny that way. We love you all.

(Abbi didn't really write this. I just thought it would be fun to write as if she had. It was a lot of fun!! Thanks Michelle for the idea!)
